Kimberly cheung here!
Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to dream. I would gaze up at the sky, let my imagination take over, and spend all my spare time teaching myself drawing, writing sappy stories, and playing with early versions of Adobe photoshop like it was The Sims. Originally a childhood nickname, Kajinkle now serves as the creative outlet and portfolio for my illustrative graphic design work.
My love for creating visuals grew to something I did on a regular basis. Very much so that it wasn’t a surprise to my family and friends when I chose graphic design as my career pursuit. I graduated with a bachelor’s in Digital Media Design from George Washington University’s Corcoran School of the Arts & Design. From there on, I moved to New York where I reside as a designer and continue to hone my traditional technical drawing ability with ongoing classes at The Art Students League for the sheer fun and challenge of it.
My work sits right at the intersection of illustration and graphic design, focusing deeply on delivering versatile styles with a clear intent of visual language or conceptual problem solving. Whether I'm developing apparel graphics, creating editorial illustrations, or animating vector GIFs, I know it ultimately boils down to “different tools & different methods but same process & same endgame”.
I back up my traditional drawing foundations with a complete mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite. Having explored these different corners of the design world, I definitely bring a unique mix of creativity, technical skill, and varied experience to every new project I touch.
When I’m not working, you can find me diving into my other obsessions: aquascaping planted tanks, sharing the latest photos of my cat trio—Piglet, Cutlet, and Giblet—to their growing Facebook fan club, and repeatedly failing to rollerblade beyond 1 mile per hour.
